![]() Yesterday I reinstalled Windows with an update assistant, keeping files and apps. I started my PC without turning on the USB 3.0 hub so I didn't have my RealSense webcam enabled (I do this to play VR) I want someone from Microsoft to acknowledge the problem and solve it.ĮDIT: 7/27 I booted up my machine and saw the Gamingservices services was running! So today it's working. Are they going to do something about this or will this keep people from playing potential hits like Halo, Gears, etc? So this now threatens Microsoft's big game releases. And I tried yesterday to install the Gears 5 multiplayer preview and couldn't because of this. Now, I've seen enough posts about this to know it's a serious problem. Of course, uninstalling and reinstalling Xbox Beta, the service itself. This is even dangerous, almost borked my system. Attempting to change ownership for the WindowsApps folder.Deactivating the option in Settings > Accounts > Login method, that says something about restoring user credentials to an app after updating it.Other things I've tried, so you won't suggest them again: The only thing that worked Once was using Powershell to un install the package for the service, then installing it again. I tried everything to fix it and the result is the same: none. If you go to the Event Viewer, you'll find a related error logged that says that DCOM can't start the service. It shows Error 5, saying it doesn't have permissions to run it. But the net one is running, which you can see if you open the Services tool. The gamingservices service is installed, as its twin gamingservicesnet. But if you run the game from this start menu, still won't start but it will open the Store in the page for the Gaming Services download. What happens is that they don't start from inside the app. Initially they worked, but eventually I couldn't start them. For quite a lot of people, games like Slay the Spire or Hollow Knight (I've heard Metro Exodus too) either won't install or won't start once you managed to install them. ![]()
